SDT x Red Cross
The sisters of SDT Gamma Mu volunteer at Yawkey Family Inn & Devon Nicole House in Boston on a weekly basis. Both the Yawkey Family Inn & Devon Nicole House provide affordable accommodations to the families of patients staying at the nearby Children's Hospital. On Wednesday evenings and Sunday mornings, sisters visit each and spend time baking, cooking, and interacting with the families and children at each center through crafts, games and other activities.
Our chapter participates in countless other volunteer activities including various walks, Relay for Life, blood drives, clothing drives, the making of holiday cards for our troops and hospital patients, and sporadic visits to a number of non-profit organizations in Boston and the surrounding area. We also love to collaborate with other groups in service endeavors, including other sororities and fraternities.
Boston Bruins 50/50 Raffle
In the fall of 2014, our chapter partnered with the B+ Heroes Program, which matches a group with a child battling cancer to provide emotional and financial assistance to them and their family. Each year, our chapter partners with the Kappa Sigma, Xi-Beta chapter to put on a Spin-to-Save fundraiser Through a variety of fundraisers, we assist our incredible hero and have the privilege of getting to know her and her family. We are honored to have formed this long-term relationship with both our hero and the B+ organization, which also funds critical, cutting-edge childhood cancer research.
